¹“If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, ²and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other gods’—which you have not known—‘and let us serve them,’ ³you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the Lᴏʀᴅ your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lᴏʀᴅ your God with all your heart and with all your soul. ⁴You shall walk after the Lᴏʀᴅ your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice, and you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him. ⁵But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has spoken in order to turn you away from the Lᴏʀᴅ your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of bondage, to entice you from the way in which the Lᴏʀᴅ your God commanded you to walk. So you shall put away the evil from your midst. ⁶“If your brother, the son of your mother, your son or your daughter, the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is as your own soul, secretly entices you, saying, ‘Let us go and serve other gods,’ which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers, ⁷of the gods of the people which are all around you, near to you or far off from you, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth, ⁸you shall not consent to him or listen to him, nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him or conceal him; ⁹but you shall surely kill him; your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. ¹⁰And you shall stone him with stones until he dies, because he sought to entice you away from the Lᴏʀᴅ your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. ¹¹So all Israel shall hear and fear, and not again do such wickedness as this among you. ¹²“If you hear someone in one of your cities, which the Lᴏʀᴅ your God gives you to dwell in, saying, ¹³‘Corrupt men have gone out from among you and enticed the inhabitants of their city, saying, “Let us go and serve other gods” ’—which you have not known— ¹⁴then you shall inquire, search out, and ask diligently. And if it is indeed true and certain that such an abomination was committed among you, ¹⁵you shall surely strike the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword—utterly destroying it, all that is in it and its livestock, with the edge of the sword. ¹⁶And you shall gather all its plunder into the middle of the street, and completely burn with fire the city and all its plunder, for the Lᴏʀᴅ your God. It shall be a heap forever; it shall not be built again. ¹⁷So none of the accursed things shall remain in your hand, that the Lᴏʀᴅ may turn from the fierceness of His anger and show you mercy, have compassion on you and multiply you, just as He swore to your fathers, ¹⁸because you have listened to the voice of the Lᴏʀᴅ your God, to keep all His commandments which I command you today, to do what is right in the eyes of the Lᴏʀᴅ your God.

¹“You are the children of the Lᴏʀᴅ your God; you shall not cut yourselves nor shave the front of your head for the dead. ²For you are a holy people to the Lᴏʀᴅ your God, and the Lᴏʀᴅ has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. ³“You shall not eat any detestable thing. ⁴These are the animals which you may eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat, ⁵the deer, the gazelle, the roe deer, the wild goat, the mountain goat, the antelope, and the mountain sheep. ⁶And you may eat every animal with cloven hooves, having the hoof split into two parts, and that chews the cud, among the animals. ⁷Nevertheless, of those that chew the cud or have cloven hooves, you shall not eat, such as these: the camel, the hare, and the rock hyrax; for they chew the cud but do not have cloven hooves; they are unclean for you. ⁸Also the swine is unclean for you, because it has cloven hooves, yet does not chew the cud; you shall not eat their flesh or touch their dead carcasses. ⁹“These you may eat of all that are in the waters: you may eat all that have fins and scales. ¹⁰And whatever does not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean for you. ¹¹“All clean birds you may eat. ¹²But these you shall not eat: the eagle, the vulture, the buzzard, ¹³the red kite, the falcon, and the kite after their kinds; ¹⁴every raven after its kind; ¹⁵the ostrich, the short-eared owl, the seagull, and the hawk after their kinds; ¹⁶the little owl, the screech owl, the white owl, ¹⁷the jackdaw, the carrion vulture, the fisher owl, ¹⁸the stork, the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe and the bat. ¹⁹Also every creeping thing that flies is unclean for you; they shall not be eaten. ²⁰You may eat all clean birds. ²¹“You shall not eat anything that dies of itself; you may give it to the alien who is within your gates, that he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner; for you are a holy people to the Lᴏʀᴅ your God. You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk. ²²“You shall truly tithe all the increase of your grain that the field produces year by year. ²³And you shall eat before the Lᴏʀᴅ your God, in the place where He chooses to make His name abide, the tithe of your grain and your new wine and your oil, of the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, that you may learn to fear the Lᴏʀᴅ your God always. ²⁴But if the journey is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry the tithe, or if the place where the Lᴏʀᴅ your God chooses to put His name is too far from you, when the Lᴏʀᴅ your God has blessed you, ²⁵then you shall exchange it for money, take the money in your hand, and go to the place which the Lᴏʀᴅ your God chooses. ²⁶And you shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the Lᴏʀᴅ your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household. ²⁷You shall not forsake the Levite who is within your gates, for he has no part nor inheritance with you. ²⁸“At the end of every third year you shall bring out the tithe of your produce of that year and store it up within your gates. ²⁹And the Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow who are within your gates, may come and eat and be satisfied, that the Lᴏʀᴅ your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.

¹The Lᴏʀᴅ reigns; Let the peoples tremble! He dwells between the cherubim; Let the earth be moved! ²The Lᴏʀᴅ is great in Zion, And He is high above all the peoples. ³Let them praise Your great and awesome name— He is holy. ⁴The King’s strength also loves justice; You have established equity; You have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob. ⁵Exalt the Lᴏʀᴅ our God, And worship at His footstool— He is holy. ⁶Moses and Aaron were among His priests, And Samuel was among those who called upon His name; They called upon the Lᴏʀᴅ, and He answered them. ⁷He spoke to them in the cloudy pillar; They kept His testimonies and the ordinance He gave them. ⁸You answered them, O Lᴏʀᴅ our God; You were to them God-Who-Forgives, Though You took vengeance on their deeds. ⁹Exalt the Lᴏʀᴅ our God, And worship at His holy hill; For the Lᴏʀᴅ our God is holy.

¹A Psalm of Thanksgiving. Make a joyful shout to the Lᴏʀᴅ, all you lands! ²Serve the Lᴏʀᴅ with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. ³Know that the Lᴏʀᴅ, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. ⁴Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. ⁵For the Lᴏʀᴅ is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.

¹A Psalm of David. I will sing of mercy and justice; To You, O Lᴏʀᴅ, I will sing praises. ²I will behave wisely in a perfect way. Oh, when will You come to me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. ³I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me. ⁴A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will not know wickedness. ⁵Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, Him I will destroy; The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart, Him I will not endure. ⁶My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land, That they may dwell with me; He who walks in a perfect way, He shall serve me. ⁷He who works deceit shall not dwell within my house; He who tells lies shall not continue in my presence. ⁸Early I will destroy all the wicked of the land, That I may cut off all the evildoers from the city of the Lᴏʀᴅ.

¹“Keep silence before Me, O coastlands, And let the people renew their strength! Let them come near, then let them speak; Let us come near together for judgment. ²“Who raised up one from the east? Who in righteousness called him to His feet? Who gave the nations before him, And made him rule over kings? Who gave them as the dust to his sword, As driven stubble to his bow? ³Who pursued them, and passed safely By the way that he had not gone with his feet? ⁴Who has performed and done it, Calling the generations from the beginning? ‘ I, the Lᴏʀᴅ, am the first; And with the last I am He.’ ” ⁵The coastlands saw it and feared, The ends of the earth were afraid; They drew near and came. ⁶Everyone helped his neighbor, And said to his brother, “Be of good courage!” ⁷So the craftsman encouraged the goldsmith; He who smooths with the hammer inspired him who strikes the anvil, Saying, “It is ready for the soldering”; Then he fastened it with pegs, That it might not totter. ⁸“But you, Israel, are My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, The descendants of Abraham My friend. ⁹You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, And called from its farthest regions, And said to you, ‘You are My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away: ¹⁰Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ ¹¹“Behold, all those who were incensed against you Shall be ashamed and disgraced; They shall be as nothing, And those who strive with you shall perish. ¹²You shall seek them and not find them— Those who contended with you. Those who war against you Shall be as nothing, As a nonexistent thing. ¹³For I, the Lᴏʀᴅ your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’ ¹⁴“Fear not, you worm Jacob, You men of Israel! I will help you,” says the Lᴏʀᴅ And your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. ¹⁵“Behold, I will make you into a new threshing sledge with sharp teeth; You shall thresh the mountains and beat them small, And make the hills like chaff. ¹⁶You shall winnow them, the wind shall carry them away, And the whirlwind shall scatter them; You shall rejoice in the Lᴏʀᴅ, And glory in the Holy One of Israel. ¹⁷“The poor and needy seek water, but there is none, Their tongues fail for thirst. I, the Lᴏʀᴅ, will hear them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. ¹⁸I will open rivers in desolate heights, And fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, And the dry land springs of water. ¹⁹I will plant in the wilderness the cedar and the acacia tree, The myrtle and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the cypress tree and the pine And the box tree together, ²⁰That they may see and know, And consider and understand together, That the hand of the Lᴏʀᴅ has done this, And the Holy One of Israel has created it. ²¹“Present your case,” says the Lᴏʀᴅ. “Bring forth your strong reasons,” says the King of Jacob. ²²“Let them bring forth and show us what will happen; Let them show the former things, what they were, That we may consider them, And know the latter end of them; Or declare to us things to come. ²³Show the things that are to come hereafter, That we may know that you are gods; Yes, do good or do evil, That we may be dismayed and see it together. ²⁴Indeed you are nothing, And your work is nothing; He who chooses you is an abomination. ²⁵“I have raised up one from the north, And he shall come; From the rising of the sun he shall call on My name; And he shall come against princes as though mortar, As the potter treads clay. ²⁶Who has declared from the beginning, that we may know? And former times, that we may say, ‘He is righteous’? Surely there is no one who shows, Surely there is no one who declares, Surely there is no one who hears your words. ²⁷The first time I said to Zion, ‘Look, there they are!’ And I will give to Jerusalem one who brings good tidings. ²⁸For I looked, and there was no man; I looked among them, but there was no counselor, Who, when I asked of them, could answer a word. ²⁹Indeed they are all worthless; Their works are nothing; Their molded images are wind and confusion.

¹Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, “Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there. ²But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months. ³And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.” ⁴These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth. ⁵And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner. ⁶These have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire. ⁷When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. ⁸And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. ⁹Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves. ¹⁰And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth. ¹¹Now after the three-and-a-half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. ¹²And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them. ¹³In the same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven. ¹⁴The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe is coming quickly. ¹⁵Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” ¹⁶And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, ¹⁷saying: “We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned. ¹⁸The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth.” ¹⁹Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail.
