Deuteronomy 12 · NKJV

1“These are the statutes and judgments which you shall be careful to observe in the land which the Lᴏʀᴅ God of your fathers is giving you to possess, all the days that you live on the earth. 2You shall utterly destroy all the places where the nations which you shall dispossess served their gods, on the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree. 3And you shall destroy their altars, break their sacred pillars, and burn their wooden images with fire; you shall cut down the carved images of their gods and destroy their names from that place. 4You shall not worship the Lᴏʀᴅ your God with such things. 5But you shall seek the place where the Lᴏʀᴅ your God chooses, out of all your tribes, to put His name for His dwelling place; and there you shall go. 6There you shall take your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the heave offerings of your hand, your vowed offerings, your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks. 7And there you shall eat before the Lᴏʀᴅ your God, and you shall rejoice in all to which you have put your hand, you and your households, in which the Lᴏʀᴅ your God has blessed you. 8You shall not at all do as we are doing here today—every man doing whatever is right in his own eyes— 9for as yet you have not come to the rest and the inheritance which the Lᴏʀᴅ your God is giving you. 10But when you cross over the Jordan and dwell in the land which the Lᴏʀᴅ your God is giving you to inherit, and He gives you rest from all your enemies round about, so that you dwell in safety, 11then there will be the place where the Lᴏʀᴅ your God chooses to make His name abide. There you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the heave offerings of your hand, and all your choice offerings which you vow to the Lᴏʀᴅ. 12And you shall rejoice before the Lᴏʀᴅ your God, you and your sons and your daughters, your male and female servants, and the Levite who is within your gates, since he has no portion nor inheritance with you. 13Take heed to yourself that you do not offer your burnt offerings in every place that you see; 14but in the place which the Lᴏʀᴅ chooses, in one of your tribes, there you shall offer your burnt offerings, and there you shall do all that I command you. 15“However, you may slaughter and eat meat within all your gates, whatever your heart desires, according to the blessing of the Lᴏʀᴅ your God which He has given you; the unclean and the clean may eat of it, of the gazelle and the deer alike. 16Only you shall not eat the blood; you shall pour it on the earth like water. 17You may not eat within your gates the tithe of your grain or your new wine or your oil, of the firstborn of your herd or your flock, of any of your offerings which you vow, of your freewill offerings, or of the heave offering of your hand. 18But you must eat them before the Lᴏʀᴅ your God in the place which the Lᴏʀᴅ your God chooses, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant, and the Levite who is within your gates; and you shall rejoice before the Lᴏʀᴅ your God in all to which you put your hands. 19Take heed to yourself that you do not forsake the Levite as long as you live in your land. 20“When the Lᴏʀᴅ your God enlarges your border as He has promised you, and you say, ‘Let me eat meat,’ because you long to eat meat, you may eat as much meat as your heart desires. 21If the place where the Lᴏʀᴅ your God chooses to put His name is too far from you, then you may slaughter from your herd and from your flock which the Lᴏʀᴅ has given you, just as I have commanded you, and you may eat within your gates as much as your heart desires. 22Just as the gazelle and the deer are eaten, so you may eat them; the unclean and the clean alike may eat them. 23Only be sure that you do not eat the blood, for the blood is the life; you may not eat the life with the meat. 24You shall not eat it; you shall pour it on the earth like water. 25You shall not eat it, that it may go well with you and your children after you, when you do what is right in the sight of the Lᴏʀᴅ. 26Only the holy things which you have, and your vowed offerings, you shall take and go to the place which the Lᴏʀᴅ chooses. 27And you shall offer your burnt offerings, the meat and the blood, on the altar of the Lᴏʀᴅ your God; and the blood of your sacrifices shall be poured out on the altar of the Lᴏʀᴅ your God, and you shall eat the meat. 28Observe and obey all these words which I command you, that it may go well with you and your children after you forever, when you do what is good and right in the sight of the Lᴏʀᴅ your God. 29“When the Lᴏʀᴅ your God cuts off from before you the nations which you go to dispossess, and you displace them and dwell in their land, 30take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do likewise.’ 31You shall not worship the Lᴏʀᴅ your God in that way; for every abomination to the Lᴏʀᴅ which He hates they have done to their gods; for they burn even their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods. 32Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it.

Psalm 97-98 · NKJV

Chapter 97

1The Lᴏʀᴅ reigns; Let the earth rejoice; Let the multitude of isles be glad! 2Clouds and darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. 3A fire goes before Him, And burns up His enemies round about. 4His lightnings light the world; The earth sees and trembles. 5The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the Lᴏʀᴅ, At the presence of the Lᴏʀᴅ of the whole earth. 6The heavens declare His righteousness, And all the peoples see His glory. 7Let all be put to shame who serve carved images, Who boast of idols. Worship Him, all you gods. 8Zion hears and is glad, And the daughters of Judah rejoice Because of Your judgments, O Lᴏʀᴅ. 9For You, Lord, are most high above all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods. 10You who love the Lᴏʀᴅ, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. 11Light is sown for the righteous, And gladness for the upright in heart. 12Rejoice in the Lᴏʀᴅ, you righteous, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.

Chapter 98

1A Psalm. Oh, sing to the Lᴏʀᴅ a new song! For He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory. 2The Lᴏʀᴅ has made known His salvation; His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations. 3He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. 4Shout joyfully to the Lᴏʀᴅ, all the earth; Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises. 5Sing to the Lᴏʀᴅ with the harp, With the harp and the sound of a psalm, 6With trumpets and the sound of a horn; Shout joyfully before the Lᴏʀᴅ, the King. 7Let the sea roar, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell in it; 8Let the rivers clap their hands; Let the hills be joyful together before the Lᴏʀᴅ, 9For He is coming to judge the earth. With righteousness He shall judge the world, And the peoples with equity.

Isaiah 40 · NKJV

1“Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” Says your God. 2“Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, That her warfare is ended, That her iniquity is pardoned; For she has received from the Lᴏʀᴅ’s hand Double for all her sins.” 3The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the Lᴏʀᴅ; Make straight in the desert A highway for our God. 4Every valley shall be exalted And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough places smooth; 5The glory of the Lᴏʀᴅ shall be revealed, And all flesh shall see it together; For the mouth of the Lᴏʀᴅ has spoken.” 6The voice said, “Cry out!” And he said, “What shall I cry?” “All flesh is grass, And all its loveliness is like the flower of the field. 7The grass withers, the flower fades, Because the breath of the Lᴏʀᴅ blows upon it; Surely the people are grass. 8The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.” 9O Zion, You who bring good tidings, Get up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, You who bring good tidings, Lift up your voice with strength, Lift it up, be not afraid; Say to the cities of Judah, “Behold your God!” 10Behold, the Lᴏʀᴅ God shall come with a strong hand, And His arm shall rule for Him; Behold, His reward is with Him, And His work before Him. 11He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, And carry them in His bosom, And gently lead those who are with young. 12Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, Measured heaven with a span And calculated the dust of the earth in a measure? Weighed the mountains in scales And the hills in a balance? 13Who has directed the Spirit of the Lᴏʀᴅ, Or as His counselor has taught Him? 14With whom did He take counsel, and who instructed Him, And taught Him in the path of justice? Who taught Him knowledge, And showed Him the way of understanding? 15Behold, the nations are as a drop in a bucket, And are counted as the small dust on the scales; Look, He lifts up the isles as a very little thing. 16And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, Nor its beasts sufficient for a burnt offering. 17All nations before Him are as nothing, And they are counted by Him less than nothing and worthless. 18To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to Him? 19The workman molds an image, The goldsmith overspreads it with gold, And the silversmith casts silver chains. 20Whoever is too impoverished for such a contribution Chooses a tree that will not rot; He seeks for himself a skillful workman To prepare a carved image that will not totter. 21Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? 22It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in. 23He brings the princes to nothing; He makes the judges of the earth useless. 24Scarcely shall they be planted, Scarcely shall they be sown, Scarcely shall their stock take root in the earth, When He will also blow on them, And they will wither, And the whirlwind will take them away like stubble. 25“To whom then will you liken Me, Or to whom shall I be equal?” says the Holy One. 26Lift up your eyes on high, And see who has created these things, Who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, By the greatness of His might And the strength of His power; Not one is missing. 27Why do you say, O Jacob, And speak, O Israel: “My way is hidden from the Lᴏʀᴅ, And my just claim is passed over by my God”? 28Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lᴏʀᴅ, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. 30Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, 31But those who wait on the Lᴏʀᴅ Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Revelation 10 · NKJV

1I saw still another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head, his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire. 2He had a little book open in his hand. And he set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, 3and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars. When he cried out, seven thunders uttered their voices. 4Now when the seven thunders uttered their voices, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them.” 5The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised up his hand to heaven 6and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer, 7but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets. 8Then the voice which I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, “Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth.” 9So I went to the angel and said to him, “Give me the little book.” And he said to me, “Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth.” 10Then I took the little book out of the angel’s hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. But when I had eaten it, my stomach became bitter. 11And he said to me, “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings.”
