Leviticus 22 · NKJV

1Then the Lᴏʀᴅ spoke to Moses, saying, 2“Speak to Aaron and his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they do not profane My holy name by what they dedicate to Me: I am the Lᴏʀᴅ. 3Say to them: ‘Whoever of all your descendants throughout your generations, who goes near the holy things which the children of Israel dedicate to the Lᴏʀᴅ, while he has uncleanness upon him, that person shall be cut off from My presence: I am the Lᴏʀᴅ. 4Whatever man of the descendants of Aaron, who is a leper or has a discharge, shall not eat the holy offerings until he is clean. And whoever touches anything made unclean by a corpse, or a man who has had an emission of semen, 5or whoever touches any creeping thing by which he would be made unclean, or any person by whom he would become unclean, whatever his uncleanness may be— 6the person who has touched any such thing shall be unclean until evening, and shall not eat the holy offerings unless he washes his body with water. 7And when the sun goes down he shall be clean; and afterward he may eat the holy offerings, because it is his food. 8Whatever dies naturally or is torn by beasts he shall not eat, to defile himself with it: I am the Lᴏʀᴅ. 9They shall therefore keep My ordinance, lest they bear sin for it and die thereby, if they profane it: I the Lᴏʀᴅ sanctify them. 10‘No outsider shall eat the holy offering; one who dwells with the priest, or a hired servant, shall not eat the holy thing. 11But if the priest buys a person with his money, he may eat it; and one who is born in his house may eat his food. 12If the priest’s daughter is married to an outsider, she may not eat of the holy offerings. 13But if the priest’s daughter is a widow or divorced, and has no child, and has returned to her father’s house as in her youth, she may eat her father’s food; but no outsider shall eat it. 14‘And if a man eats the holy offering unintentionally, then he shall restore a holy offering to the priest, and add one-fifth to it. 15They shall not profane the holy offerings of the children of Israel, which they offer to the Lᴏʀᴅ, 16or allow them to bear the guilt of trespass when they eat their holy offerings; for I the Lᴏʀᴅ sanctify them.’ ” 17And the Lᴏʀᴅ spoke to Moses, saying, 18“Speak to Aaron and his sons, and to all the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘Whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, who offers his sacrifice for any of his vows or for any of his freewill offerings, which they offer to the Lᴏʀᴅ as a burnt offering— 19you shall offer of your own free will a male without blemish from the cattle, from the sheep, or from the goats. 20Whatever has a defect, you shall not offer, for it shall not be acceptable on your behalf. 21And whoever offers a sacrifice of a peace offering to the Lᴏʀᴅ, to fulfill his vow, or a freewill offering from the cattle or the sheep, it must be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no defect in it. 22Those that are blind or broken or maimed, or have an ulcer or eczema or scabs, you shall not offer to the Lᴏʀᴅ, nor make an offering by fire of them on the altar to the Lᴏʀᴅ. 23Either a bull or a lamb that has any limb too long or too short you may offer as a freewill offering, but for a vow it shall not be accepted. 24You shall not offer to the Lᴏʀᴅ what is bruised or crushed, or torn or cut; nor shall you make any offering of them in your land. 25Nor from a foreigner’s hand shall you offer any of these as the bread of your God, because their corruption is in them, and defects are in them. They shall not be accepted on your behalf.’ ” 26And the Lᴏʀᴅ spoke to Moses, saying: 27“When a bull or a sheep or a goat is born, it shall be seven days with its mother; and from the eighth day and thereafter it shall be accepted as an offering made by fire to the Lᴏʀᴅ. 28Whether it is a cow or ewe, do not kill both her and her young on the same day. 29And when you offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the Lᴏʀᴅ, offer it of your own free will. 30On the same day it shall be eaten; you shall leave none of it until morning: I am the Lᴏʀᴅ. 31“Therefore you shall keep My commandments, and perform them: I am the Lᴏʀᴅ. 32You shall not profane My holy name, but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel. I am the Lᴏʀᴅ who sanctifies you, 33who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lᴏʀᴅ.”

Psalm 28-29 · NKJV

Chapter 28

1A Psalm of David. To You I will cry, O Lᴏʀᴅ my Rock: Do not be silent to me, Lest, if You are silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit. 2Hear the voice of my supplications When I cry to You, When I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary. 3Do not take me away with the wicked And with the workers of iniquity, Who speak peace to their neighbors, But evil is in their hearts. 4Give them according to their deeds, And according to the wickedness of their endeavors; Give them according to the work of their hands; Render to them what they deserve. 5Because they do not regard the works of the Lᴏʀᴅ, Nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them And not build them up. 6Blessed be the Lᴏʀᴅ, Because He has heard the voice of my supplications! 7The Lᴏʀᴅ is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him. 8The Lᴏʀᴅ is their strength, And He is the saving refuge of His anointed. 9Save Your people, And bless Your inheritance; Shepherd them also, And bear them up forever.

Chapter 29

1A Psalm of David. Give unto the Lᴏʀᴅ, O you mighty ones, Give unto the Lᴏʀᴅ glory and strength. 2Give unto the Lᴏʀᴅ the glory due to His name; Worship the Lᴏʀᴅ in the beauty of holiness. 3The voice of the Lᴏʀᴅ is over the waters; The God of glory thunders; The Lᴏʀᴅ is over many waters. 4The voice of the Lᴏʀᴅ is powerful; The voice of the Lᴏʀᴅ is full of majesty. 5The voice of the Lᴏʀᴅ breaks the cedars, Yes, the Lᴏʀᴅ splinters the cedars of Lebanon. 6He makes them also skip like a calf, Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild ox. 7The voice of the Lᴏʀᴅ divides the flames of fire. 8The voice of the Lᴏʀᴅ shakes the wilderness; The Lᴏʀᴅ shakes the Wilderness of Kadesh. 9The voice of the Lᴏʀᴅ makes the deer give birth, And strips the forests bare; And in His temple everyone says, “Glory!” 10The Lᴏʀᴅ sat enthroned at the Flood, And the Lᴏʀᴅ sits as King forever. 11The Lᴏʀᴅ will give strength to His people; The Lᴏʀᴅ will bless His people with peace.

Ecclesiastes 5 · NKJV

1Walk prudently when you go to the house of God; and draw near to hear rather than to give the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they do evil. 2Do not be rash with your mouth, And let not your heart utter anything hastily before God. For God is in heaven, and you on earth; Therefore let your words be few. 3For a dream comes through much activity, And a fool’s voice is known by his many words. 4When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it; For He has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you have vowed— 5Better not to vow than to vow and not pay. 6Do not let your mouth cause your flesh to sin, nor say before the messenger of God that it was an error. Why should God be angry at your excuse and destroy the work of your hands? 7For in the multitude of dreams and many words there is also vanity. But fear God. 8If you see the oppression of the poor, and the violent perversion of justice and righteousness in a province, do not marvel at the matter; for high official watches over high official, and higher officials are over them. 9Moreover the profit of the land is for all; even the king is served from the field. 10He who loves silver will not be satisfied with silver; Nor he who loves abundance, with increase. This also is vanity. 11When goods increase, They increase who eat them; So what profit have the owners Except to see them with their eyes? 12The sleep of a laboring man is sweet, Whether he eats little or much; But the abundance of the rich will not permit him to sleep. 13There is a severe evil which I have seen under the sun: Riches kept for their owner to his hurt. 14But those riches perish through misfortune; When he begets a son, there is nothing in his hand. 15As he came from his mother’s womb, naked shall he return, To go as he came; And he shall take nothing from his labor Which he may carry away in his hand. 16And this also is a severe evil— Just exactly as he came, so shall he go. And what profit has he who has labored for the wind? 17All his days he also eats in darkness, And he has much sorrow and sickness and anger. 18Here is what I have seen: It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his heritage. 19As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God. 20For he will not dwell unduly on the days of his life, because God keeps him busy with the joy of his heart.

2 Timothy 1 · NKJV

1Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus, 2To Timothy, a beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. 3I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did, as without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day, 4greatly desiring to see you, being mindful of your tears, that I may be filled with joy, 5when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also. 6Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 8Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, 9who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, 10but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, 11to which I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles. 12For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. 13Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. 14That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. 15This you know, that all those in Asia have turned away from me, among whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes. 16The Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain; 17but when he arrived in Rome, he sought me out very zealously and found me. 18The Lord grant to him that he may find mercy from the Lord in that Day—and you know very well how many ways he ministered to me at Ephesus.
