Leviticus 17 · NKJV

1And the Lᴏʀᴅ spoke to Moses, saying, 2“Speak to Aaron, to his sons, and to all the children of Israel, and say to them, ‘This is the thing which the Lᴏʀᴅ has commanded, saying: 3“Whatever man of the house of Israel who kills an ox or lamb or goat in the camp, or who kills it outside the camp, 4and does not bring it to the door of the tabernacle of meeting to offer an offering to the Lᴏʀᴅ before the tabernacle of the Lᴏʀᴅ, the guilt of bloodshed shall be imputed to that man. He has shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people, 5to the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices which they offer in the open field, that they may bring them to the Lᴏʀᴅ at the door of the tabernacle of meeting, to the priest, and offer them as peace offerings to the Lᴏʀᴅ. 6And the priest shall sprinkle the blood on the altar of the Lᴏʀᴅ at the door of the tabernacle of meeting, and burn the fat for a sweet aroma to the Lᴏʀᴅ. 7They shall no more offer their sacrifices to demons, after whom they have played the harlot. This shall be a statute forever for them throughout their generations.” ‘ 8Also you shall say to them: ‘Whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who offers a burnt offering or sacrifice, 9and does not bring it to the door of the tabernacle of meeting, to offer it to the Lᴏʀᴅ, that man shall be cut off from among his people. 10‘And whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who eats any blood, I will set My face against that person who eats blood, and will cut him off from among his people. 11For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’ 12Therefore I said to the children of Israel, ‘No one among you shall eat blood, nor shall any stranger who dwells among you eat blood.’ 13Whatever man of the children of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who hunts and catches any animal or bird that may be eaten, he shall pour out its blood and cover it with dust; 14for it is the life of all flesh. Its blood sustains its life. Therefore I said to the children of Israel, ‘You shall not eat the blood of any flesh, for the life of all flesh is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off.’ 15“And every person who eats what died naturally or what was torn by beasts, whether he is a native of your own country or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until evening. Then he shall be clean. 16But if he does not wash them or bathe his body, then he shall bear his guilt.”

Psalm 20-21 · NKJV

Chapter 20

1To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. May the Lᴏʀᴅ answer you in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend you; 2May He send you help from the sanctuary, And strengthen you out of Zion; 3May He remember all your offerings, And accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah 4May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, And fulfill all your purpose. 5We will rejoice in your salvation, And in the name of our God we will set up our banners! May the Lᴏʀᴅ fulfill all your petitions. 6Now I know that the Lᴏʀᴅ saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven With the saving strength of His right hand. 7Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the Lᴏʀᴅ our God. 8They have bowed down and fallen; But we have risen and stand upright. 9Save, Lord! May the King answer us when we call.

Chapter 21

1To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The king shall have joy in Your strength, O Lᴏʀᴅ; And in Your salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! 2You have given him his heart’s desire, And have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah 3For You meet him with the blessings of goodness; You set a crown of pure gold upon his head. 4He asked life from You, and You gave it to him— Length of days forever and ever. 5His glory is great in Your salvation; Honor and majesty You have placed upon him. 6For You have made him most blessed forever; You have made him exceedingly glad with Your presence. 7For the king trusts in the Lᴏʀᴅ, And through the mercy of the Most High he shall not be moved. 8Your hand will find all Your enemies; Your right hand will find those who hate You. 9You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of Your anger; The Lᴏʀᴅ shall swallow them up in His wrath, And the fire shall devour them. 10Their offspring You shall destroy from the earth, And their descendants from among the sons of men. 11For they intended evil against You; They devised a plot which they are not able to perform. 12Therefore You will make them turn their back; You will make ready Your arrows on Your string toward their faces. 13Be exalted, O Lᴏʀᴅ, in Your own strength! We will sing and praise Your power.

Proverbs 31 · NKJV

1The words of King Lemuel, the utterance which his mother taught him: 2What, my son? And what, son of my womb? And what, son of my vows? 3Do not give your strength to women, Nor your ways to that which destroys kings. 4It is not for kings, O Lemuel, It is not for kings to drink wine, Nor for princes intoxicating drink; 5Lest they drink and forget the law, And pervert the justice of all the afflicted. 6Give strong drink to him who is perishing, And wine to those who are bitter of heart. 7Let him drink and forget his poverty, And remember his misery no more. 8Open your mouth for the speechless, In the cause of all who are appointed to die. 9Open your mouth, judge righteously, And plead the cause of the poor and needy. 10Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. 11The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain. 12She does him good and not evil All the days of her life. 13She seeks wool and flax, And willingly works with her hands. 14She is like the merchant ships, She brings her food from afar. 15She also rises while it is yet night, And provides food for her household, And a portion for her maidservants. 16She considers a field and buys it; From her profits she plants a vineyard. 17She girds herself with strength, And strengthens her arms. 18She perceives that her merchandise is good, And her lamp does not go out by night. 19She stretches out her hands to the distaff, And her hand holds the spindle. 20She extends her hand to the poor, Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy. 21She is not afraid of snow for her household, For all her household is clothed with scarlet. 22She makes tapestry for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple. 23Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land. 24She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies sashes for the merchants. 25Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. 26She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness. 27She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. 28Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: 29“Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all.” 30Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the Lᴏʀᴅ, she shall be praised. 31Give her of the fruit of her hands, And let her own works praise her in the gates.

1 Timothy 2 · NKJV

1Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, 7for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. 8I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting; 9in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, 10but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works. 11Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. 12And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. 13For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression. 15Nevertheless she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control.
