Joshua 1 · NKJV

1After the death of Moses the servant of the Lᴏʀᴅ, it came to pass that the Lᴏʀᴅ spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: 2“Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. 3Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. 4From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory. 5No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. 6Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. 7Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. 8This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lᴏʀᴅ your God is with you wherever you go.” 10Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, 11“Pass through the camp and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lᴏʀᴅ your God is giving you to possess.’ ” 12And to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh Joshua spoke, saying, 13“Remember the word which Moses the servant of the Lᴏʀᴅ commanded you, saying, ‘The Lᴏʀᴅ your God is giving you rest and is giving you this land.’ 14Your wives, your little ones, and your livestock shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan. But you shall pass before your brethren armed, all your mighty men of valor, and help them, 15until the Lᴏʀᴅ has given your brethren rest, as He gave you, and they also have taken possession of the land which the Lᴏʀᴅ your God is giving them. Then you shall return to the land of your possession and enjoy it, which Moses the Lᴏʀᴅ’s servant gave you on this side of the Jordan toward the sunrise.” 16So they answered Joshua, saying, “All that you command us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go. 17Just as we heeded Moses in all things, so we will heed you. Only the Lᴏʀᴅ your God be with you, as He was with Moses. 18Whoever rebels against your command and does not heed your words, in all that you command him, shall be put to death. Only be strong and of good courage.”

Psalm 120-122 · NKJV

Chapter 120

1A Song of Ascents. In my distress I cried to the Lᴏʀᴅ, And He heard me. 2Deliver my soul, O Lᴏʀᴅ, from lying lips And from a deceitful tongue. 3What shall be given to you, Or what shall be done to you, You false tongue? 4Sharp arrows of the warrior, With coals of the broom tree! 5Woe is me, that I dwell in Meshech, That I dwell among the tents of Kedar! 6My soul has dwelt too long With one who hates peace. 7I am for peace; But when I speak, they are for war.

Chapter 121

1A Song of Ascents. I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? 2My help comes from the Lᴏʀᴅ, Who made heaven and earth. 3He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. 4Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5The Lᴏʀᴅ is your keeper; The Lᴏʀᴅ is your shade at your right hand. 6The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. 7The Lᴏʀᴅ shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. 8The Lᴏʀᴅ shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.

Chapter 122

1A Song of Ascents. Of David. I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the Lᴏʀᴅ.” 2Our feet have been standing Within your gates, O Jerusalem! 3Jerusalem is built As a city that is compact together, 4Where the tribes go up, The tribes of the Lᴏʀᴅ, To the Testimony of Israel, To give thanks to the name of the Lᴏʀᴅ. 5For thrones are set there for judgment, The thrones of the house of David. 6Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you. 7Peace be within your walls, Prosperity within your palaces.” 8For the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say, “Peace be within you.” 9Because of the house of the Lᴏʀᴅ our God I will seek your good.

Isaiah 61 · NKJV

1“The Spirit of the Lᴏʀᴅ God is upon Me, Because the Lᴏʀᴅ has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lᴏʀᴅ, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lᴏʀᴅ, that He may be glorified.” 4And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations. 5Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, And the sons of the foreigner Shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers. 6But you shall be named the priests of the Lᴏʀᴅ, They shall call you the servants of our God. You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, And in their glory you shall boast. 7Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs. 8“For I, the Lᴏʀᴅ, love justice; I hate robbery for burnt offering; I will direct their work in truth, And will make with them an everlasting covenant. 9Their descendants shall be known among the Gentiles, And their offspring among the people. All who see them shall acknowledge them, That they are the posterity whom the Lᴏʀᴅ has blessed.” 10I will greatly rejoice in the Lᴏʀᴅ, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. 11For as the earth brings forth its bud, As the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, So the Lᴏʀᴅ God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

Matthew 9 · NKJV

1So He got into a boat, crossed over, and came to His own city. 2Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.” 3And at once some of the scribes said within themselves, “This Man blasphemes!” 4But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts? 5For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise and walk’? 6But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—then He said to the paralytic, “Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” 7And he arose and departed to his house. 8Now when the multitudes saw it, they marveled and glorified God, who had given such power to men. 9As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” So he arose and followed Him. 10Now it happened, as Jesus sat at the table in the house, that behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples. 11And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 12When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 13But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” 14Then the disciples of John came to Him, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but Your disciples do not fast?” 15And Jesus said to them, “Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast. 16No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and the tear is made worse. 17Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.” 18While He spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped Him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she will live.” 19So Jesus arose and followed him, and so did His disciples. 20And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. 21For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” 22But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour. 23When Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, 24He said to them, “Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him. 25But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose. 26And the report of this went out into all that land. 27When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” 28And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” 29Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” 30And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying, “See that no one knows it.” 31But when they had departed, they spread the news about Him in all that country. 32As they went out, behold, they brought to Him a man, mute and demon-possessed. 33And when the demon was cast out, the mute spoke. And the multitudes marveled, saying, “It was never seen like this in Israel!” 34But the Pharisees said, “He casts out demons by the ruler of the demons.” 35Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. 37Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
