Deuteronomy 26 · NKJV

1“And it shall be, when you come into the land which the Lᴏʀᴅ your God is giving you as an inheritance, and you possess it and dwell in it, 2that you shall take some of the first of all the produce of the ground, which you shall bring from your land that the Lᴏʀᴅ your God is giving you, and put it in a basket and go to the place where the Lᴏʀᴅ your God chooses to make His name abide. 3And you shall go to the one who is priest in those days, and say to him, ‘I declare today to the Lᴏʀᴅ your God that I have come to the country which the Lᴏʀᴅ swore to our fathers to give us.’ 4Then the priest shall take the basket out of your hand and set it down before the altar of the Lᴏʀᴅ your God. 5And you shall answer and say before the Lᴏʀᴅ your God: ‘My father was a Syrian, about to perish, and he went down to Egypt and dwelt there, few in number; and there he became a nation, great, mighty, and populous. 6But the Egyptians mistreated us, afflicted us, and laid hard bondage on us. 7Then we cried out to the Lᴏʀᴅ God of our fathers, and the Lᴏʀᴅ heard our voice and looked on our affliction and our labor and our oppression. 8So the Lᴏʀᴅ brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm, with great terror and with signs and wonders. 9He has brought us to this place and has given us this land, “a land flowing with milk and honey”; 10and now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land which you, O Lᴏʀᴅ, have given me.’ Then you shall set it before the Lᴏʀᴅ your God, and worship before the Lᴏʀᴅ your God. 11So you shall rejoice in every good thing which the Lᴏʀᴅ your God has given to you and your house, you and the Levite and the stranger who is among you. 12“When you have finished laying aside all the tithe of your increase in the third year—the year of tithing—and have given it to the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, so that they may eat within your gates and be filled, 13then you shall say before the Lᴏʀᴅ your God: ‘I have removed the holy tithe from my house, and also have given them to the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, according to all Your commandments which You have commanded me; I have not transgressed Your commandments, nor have I forgotten them. 14I have not eaten any of it when in mourning, nor have I removed any of it for an unclean use, nor given any of it for the dead. I have obeyed the voice of the Lᴏʀᴅ my God, and have done according to all that You have commanded me. 15Look down from Your holy habitation, from heaven, and bless Your people Israel and the land which You have given us, just as You swore to our fathers, “a land flowing with milk and honey.” ‘ 16“This day the Lᴏʀᴅ your God commands you to observe these statutes and judgments; therefore you shall be careful to observe them with all your heart and with all your soul. 17Today you have proclaimed the Lᴏʀᴅ to be your God, and that you will walk in His ways and keep His statutes, His commandments, and His judgments, and that you will obey His voice. 18Also today the Lᴏʀᴅ has proclaimed you to be His special people, just as He promised you, that you should keep all His commandments, 19and that He will set you high above all nations which He has made, in praise, in name, and in honor, and that you may be a holy people to the Lᴏʀᴅ your God, just as He has spoken.”

Psalm 117-118 · NKJV

Chapter 117

1Praise the Lᴏʀᴅ, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples! 2For His merciful kindness is great toward us, And the truth of the Lᴏʀᴅ endures forever. Praise the Lᴏʀᴅ!

Chapter 118

1Oh, give thanks to the Lᴏʀᴅ, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 2Let Israel now say, “His mercy endures forever.” 3Let the house of Aaron now say, “His mercy endures forever.” 4Let those who fear the Lᴏʀᴅ now say, “His mercy endures forever.” 5I called on the Lᴏʀᴅ in distress; The Lᴏʀᴅ answered me and set me in a broad place. 6The Lᴏʀᴅ is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? 7The Lᴏʀᴅ is for me among those who help me; Therefore I shall see my desire on those who hate me. 8It is better to trust in the Lᴏʀᴅ Than to put confidence in man. 9It is better to trust in the Lᴏʀᴅ Than to put confidence in princes. 10All nations surrounded me, But in the name of the Lᴏʀᴅ I will destroy them. 11They surrounded me, Yes, they surrounded me; But in the name of the Lᴏʀᴅ I will destroy them. 12They surrounded me like bees; They were quenched like a fire of thorns; For in the name of the Lᴏʀᴅ I will destroy them. 13You pushed me violently, that I might fall, But the Lᴏʀᴅ helped me. 14The Lᴏʀᴅ is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation. 15The voice of rejoicing and salvation Is in the tents of the righteous; The right hand of the Lᴏʀᴅ does valiantly. 16The right hand of the Lᴏʀᴅ is exalted; The right hand of the Lᴏʀᴅ does valiantly. 17I shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the Lᴏʀᴅ. 18The Lᴏʀᴅ has chastened me severely, But He has not given me over to death. 19Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will go through them, And I will praise the Lᴏʀᴅ. 20This is the gate of the Lᴏʀᴅ, Through which the righteous shall enter. 21I will praise You, For You have answered me, And have become my salvation. 22The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. 23This was the Lᴏʀᴅ’s doing; It is marvelous in our eyes. 24This is the day the Lᴏʀᴅ has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. 25Save now, I pray, O Lᴏʀᴅ; O Lᴏʀᴅ, I pray, send now prosperity. 26Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lᴏʀᴅ! We have blessed you from the house of the Lᴏʀᴅ. 27God is the Lᴏʀᴅ, And He has given us light; Bind the sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar. 28You are my God, and I will praise You; You are my God, I will exalt You. 29Oh, give thanks to the Lᴏʀᴅ, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

Isaiah 53 · NKJV

1Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lᴏʀᴅ been revealed? 2For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. 3He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. 4Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. 5But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. 6All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lᴏʀᴅ has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. 7He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. 8He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. 9And they made His grave with the wicked— But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth. 10Yet it pleased the Lᴏʀᴅ to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the Lᴏʀᴅ shall prosper in His hand. 11He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities. 12Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.

Matthew 1 · NKJV

1The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham: 2Abraham begot Isaac, Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot Judah and his brothers. 3Judah begot Perez and Zerah by Tamar, Perez begot Hezron, and Hezron begot Ram. 4Ram begot Amminadab, Amminadab begot Nahshon, and Nahshon begot Salmon. 5Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, Obed begot Jesse, 6and Jesse begot David the king.David the king begot Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah. 7Solomon begot Rehoboam, Rehoboam begot Abijah, and Abijah begot Asa. 8Asa begot Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat begot Joram, and Joram begot Uzziah. 9Uzziah begot Jotham, Jotham begot Ahaz, and Ahaz begot Hezekiah. 10Hezekiah begot Manasseh, Manasseh begot Amon, and Amon begot Josiah. 11Josiah begot Jeconiah and his brothers about the time they were carried away to Babylon. 12And after they were brought to Babylon, Jeconiah begot Shealtiel, and Shealtiel begot Zerubbabel. 13Zerubbabel begot Abiud, Abiud begot Eliakim, and Eliakim begot Azor. 14Azor begot Zadok, Zadok begot Achim, and Achim begot Eliud. 15Eliud begot Eleazar, Eleazar begot Matthan, and Matthan begot Jacob. 16And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ. 17So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, from David until the captivity in Babylon are fourteen generations, and from the captivity in Babylon until the Christ are fourteen generations. 18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. 19Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. 20But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” 22So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 23“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” 24Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, 25and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus.
